ENGINEERING PEAK PERFORMANCE

Leadership topics with an Engineering spin based on Positive Psychology.
For those who want to boost their performance by leveraging their strengths.

4 Business
Cases for Peak Performance

  • “Five thousand executives were asked how much more productive they were at their peak than they were on average, we get a range of answers, but the most common at senior levels is an increase of five times (500%).

Increasing the Meaning Quotient of Work

    – McKinsey Quarterly

  • Researchers have found a 250 – 500% increase in learning capability and memory from operating in a state of peak performance commonly referred to as flow

    – Steven Kotler (Author of several books including Rise of Superman)

  • Participants who reported spending 4 – 6 hours per day using their strengths also reported an approximate 30% increase in levels of happiness, learning, and energy, and an approximate 30% decrease in levels of worry, stress, and pain

    – Gallup

  • Teams who “strongly agreed” with the question “At work, do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day?” were 38% more likely to be highly productive, 44% more likely to have high customer satisfaction scores and 50% more likely to have high employee retention.

As a coach and consultant, I have 2 goals:
1. Develop Situation-specific Flow Protocols
2. Create Strategies to Mitigate Bad Flow

1:1 Coaching

Helping you increase the frequency you find yourself in a state of flow

Consulting

Designing Peak Performance
for you and your team

Flow is when you feel your best
and perform your best.

Flow involves 7 characteristics.

1. Clear Goals

2. Stretch Challenge

3. Feedback is inherent in the task

4. No Fear or Worry

5. Absorbed in the use of your talents

6. Lose track of time

7. Love doing the task just for the sake of it

What is bad flow?

Think about an experience you had that triggered a negative visceral response. The experience feels painful at times. It feels bad and puts a heavy burden on your thinking, it may even cause you to ‘lash out’ and regret it later. You don’t end up being your best when you’re in bad flow, you tend to do things you regret. When you’re in bad flow, the more you do, the worse it gets, you’re in a negative spiral.

Bad flow still involves your talents, but it involves the shadow side of your talents.

Five Enemies of Flow

1 - Interruptions or distractions

2 - Negative thinking

3 - Challenge is over or underwhelming

4 - Lack of physical or mental preparation

5 - Burn-out, exhaustion, or lack of sleep

What to expect from
a coaching session

1 - Apply cutting-edge research in your environment.

2 - Configure tasks with the seven universal characteristics of flow.

3 - Mitigate the five enemies of flow.

4 - Activate flow with your talents.

5 - Mitigate bad flow

Testimonials

“I wanted to anticipate that my meetings with Omer were one of the best experiences of my entire life, I can't wait to tell you everything.”

“ Over the time I spent with Omer he brought to life the Clifton Strengths by turning the insights into actionable behaviour changes to unblock flow. His mix of engineering and HR resonated with me, creating repeatable and predictable behaviour changes that I can use to optimise flow. Typically, many personal development courses or coaching are insightful, but the challenge is building on these insights and ensuring they are being practised 12 months on, I'm confident that Omer's approach does that. I can't speak highly enough of the experience and would thoroughly recommend him for any future Quest personal development opportunities, love it! ”
